The City of Plano's Love Where You Live - Meadows Addition program is focusing its 2026 revitalization cycle on the Meadows Addition neighborhood in East Plano, connecting volunteers and city staff with residents who need help with minor exterior home repairs, landscaping, and community cleanup at no cost. The Fall Service Day is set for September 26, with workshops running through October.

The program's core idea is direct neighbor-to-neighbor help, organized by the city. Residents in the Meadows Addition who apply for assistance can have exterior repairs and landscaping handled by matched volunteers without any out-of-pocket cost. Volunteers are matched to specific homeowner projects, so the work is focused rather than generalized. This kind of structured matching is what separates this program from a typical cleanup day.

What the Program Covers

The scope of help includes minor exterior home repair, landscaping, community-wide cleanups, education workshops tailored to resident needs, neighborhood block parties and movie nights, and connection to available city resources and services. The program is built around the principle that neighbors helping neighbors is the foundation of a well-functioning community, and the city's role is to organize that energy and make sure it reaches the households that need it most.

For the 2026 cycle, three specific events are already scheduled. A housing rehab programs workshop is set for August 13. A crime prevention event will take place on October 6 at Meadows Elementary. The Fall Service Day, when volunteers arrive to help with hands-on repairs and landscaping, is September 26.

How to Get Involved

Residents in the Meadows Addition who want assistance with exterior repairs or landscaping can apply through the city. There is no cost to residents for approved projects. Volunteers who want to help can sign up through the city's Volunteers in Plano (VIP) portal, either individually or as a group. Volunteer areas include minor exterior home repair, landscaping, community cleanups, and neighborhood outreach.
